Aftermath

The project is inspired by memento mori and vanitas and explores aspects of my own mortality. Whilst on the course I suffered from a massive bilateral pulmonary embolism and these are self-portraits I made during my recovery. The images have been created by converting digital files to analogue and applying traditional b/w darkroom techniques. I experimented with the developer in the darkroom to mimic the tissue of the lungs and blood vessels.
